I created this site to organize and share the most interesting and exciting contemporary artists I've discovered over years of seeking out aesthetic affinity on (and off) line, bookmarking artist and gallery sites and scouring art blogs and resources.
If this can be a useful resource for others, that's awesome. 👍
What I am not: an Art Historian, industry professional or collector.
What I am: a web developer and Art enthusiast with a broad, self-educated understanding of Modern Art who is hungry for aesthetic experiences that push my boundaries and open my eyes to new perspectives.
The curation here is my own and follows these general criteria:
From one angle, the artists collected here are in no need of additional attention, already having, as they do, significant gallery representation and inclusion in private and institutional collections.
What's inspiring me to share, however, is the wider world that's out there, full of the art-aware, the art curious, the city museum goers, the modern art lovers who know the canon - but for whom the names and works of the artists featured here may be entirely new.
To that end, I have curated an "Introduction", using one piece by each artist, trying to show some of the cross-currents and sparks of connection, HERE.
Finally, this site is certainly not complete. I trust I've missed a mountain of innovative and inspiring Contemporary Abstract and Conceptual art - and that there's so much more amazing work to come. I will add to the site anything that I think fits.
